WCA offers Certifications in several streams for both trainers/teachers and the general public:

How many levels of certification does WCA provide for Trainers?
There are four levels of certification:
Level 1: Certified Trainer Level 2: Professional Trainer
Level 3: Senior Trainer Level 4: Master Trainer
Note: to be eligible for admittance into Level 2 in any stream, you MUST complete the Level 1 Certificate for World Citizen, as well as Level 1 Certificate in the same stream you wish to achieve Level 2 for.

What are the requirements to be accepted into the program?
Trainers: Requirements vary by program stream and certification level, however generally, e.g., for Level 1, requirements include:
– letter of interest – resume or academic record

General Public: No requirements
How to earn the certificate to become a Level 1- Certified Trainer? (Online Programs)
To become a Level 1 Certified Trainer, you must complete the required number of program hours. For Level 1 programs the requirement is 24 hours including: 16 hours mandatory online pre-recorded training, 8 hours required webinars (live), 4 hours optional webinars (e.g., may include exam preparation), and you must pass an exam.
How does the general public earn the certificate? (Online Programs)
You must complete the required number of program hours. For Level 1 programs the requirement is 6 hours including: 4 hours mandatory online pre-recorded training, 2 hours required webinar (live), 2 hours optional webinars (e.g., may include exam preparation), and you must pass an exam.
How long does it take to complete a program?
Trainers: Usually it will take 2-4 days for live training and 30 days for online training.
General Public: It will take 1 day for live training and 30 days for online training.
How will I use what I learn in the program?
You will use the new knowledge and skills in various ways depending on the work you do and your intentions for taking the course, for example, some graduates may use the training to:
– use the ready-to-use lesson plans (provided with each level of certification) in their own business, e.g., teachers, trainers, consultants, business owners
– lead group discussions on or offline
– teach others World Citizen concepts, either formally or informally
– use the knowledge to further develop their own work, writing, or contribution to community, e.g., in a leadership role
– lead by example, e.g., some people simply want the training for personal development
– develop a team or mindset e.g., in an organization or workplace. The concepts could be incorporated into organization mission, mandate or values. – reference sources or resources or concepts for related topics, e.g., civility, peace, civil dialogue, culture, thinking skills, travel, service etc.
Who created the World Citizen program and why?
The program was created by Jessie Lin Brown, a well-established Civility Entrepreneur and change-maker who lead in the training industry in this topic area. The purpose of the program was to make training tools, lessons, certification, concepts and related supports available at an affordable price, in an accessible way, to individuals all over the world who have interest in making the world even a tiny bit better.

What languages is the program and/or materials available in?
At present, all online programs are in English. Some materials and support will be provided in Chinese. And for groups or special requests, there may be options for additional languages to be available.
When do I take the exam and how do I write the exam?
You will take the exam right after the program completion (30 days). The exam will be online.
How do I register for the exam?
When you sign up for a course, you are automatically registered for the exam. You must pass the exam to receive a certificate of completion and a passing score is required to move on to the next level of certification.
How long is the exam time?
Trainers have two-hour exam time for 50 multiple choice questions in each program. They are open book exams.
General Public has one-hour exam time for 35 multiple choice questions.
How much does it cost to retake the exam?
It costs USD$49 to retake the exam.
